REVISED ARBITRON NUMBERS

As noted on another thread-that is just for AM drive 25-54

Yes... but what a big drop in the AM. Depetro is now just a notch above a distant Boston station. From 4th to 9th. That's a HUGE drop!

A few things stand out.

1. HJJ isn't in the Top 10. I wonder how far down the ladder they are.
2. Hot106 was beat out by a Boston station with the same format. That seems so sad.
3. Depetro got beat by a Spanish station. That's a new level of sad that I can barely comprehend.

One thing I've learned from being in a PPM market, is that the diary system is very flawed. Once Providence gets PPM (a much more accurate way to measure an audience), overnight certain stations will become shining stars and others will become dogs. As for the diary ratings, wild fluctuations -- everything else being equal -- don't really mean people are finding other stations to listen to. Unless something drastic happens, people don't decide in mass one day that they're going to switch from one station to another. When you have certain triple digit markets' ratings being decided by just 20 diaries, it really does come down to diary placement. It's an often-used seldom-believed argument, but is still very valid.

1. HJJ would have a higher leaning audience (Corwin said on today's stories that WPRO-AM's avg listener age skews up towards 66, which made the significant drop due to the 6 diaries in question 25-34, even more glaring) so with PRO being up there, you'd expect HJJ to be as well.
2. Hot's morning 25-54 ratings pretty much sum up why Kerry is back on Pro-FM; but they would be more worried about males 18-34 than an overall 25-54.
3. SIGNIFICANT increases in the 12+ report to the Spanish stations, which would lead to them beating John. (also, the 6 diaries that were thrown out would have probably placed e/w-which is a detriment not only to WPRO; but ALL of the stations in the survey-who says that people they may have been sent to all listen to Paul & AL, Gio & Kim, Jones & Heather, Helen, etc!?!)
