High Desert Revolution hits 98.1 FM

The new Revolution hits 98.1fm is broadcasting in the Barstow area with a Dance Hot AC format. Very unique. They aren’t mentioning 98.9 FM Laughlin at all.

Brawley, Blythe and Baker, the three most horrible cities in California.

Add in Beaumont and Banning and you have reason not to name any new California town with a word starting with a "B".
 
OK, I just don't get it... what's the point of covering what is empty desert, with an EDM/dance format? And last time I was in Barstow, the population is not what I would describe as a club scene EDM type of crowd living there. Lol.

I assume this is for travellers on the 15 only ???

Is the callsign and col of the Essex station being aired during the top-of-the-hour ID. If not, has the 98.9 frequency gone silent or is it being programmed with something else.

(And as to @davideduardo's comments, one passes by Beaumont, Banning, and Blythe on I-10 going from Los Angeles to Phoenix. And Brawley is the closest major town to both Borego Springs and the Glamis San Dunes where I used to go as a kid with my parents. And while I cannot comment [for physical reasons] on the beauty or lack thereof of any of these towns, I can finally note with absolute certainty that all four of these California towns are nicely served by NPR outlets--either by full power simulcasters or translators of other radio stations. Only Barstow [and the larger towns of Victorville and Apple Valley to its west] do not have NPR service at this time.)

for the longest time, these stations have been targetting travelers going to and from vegas, i mean, thats why they used to be called the highway stations
