I see George Wolfe has left K95.5 and has been on Rewind the last few days..... This permanent?

hahah - Could Saga be considering "Country" for 103.5/104.3 :p Sorry I had to say that!!!!

Wasn't Wolf the PD? Maybe Wilks will finally blow 955 up and bring in a new format.

Yes, he was PD.  Of course his exit doesn't necessarily mean they're dumping country.  But if they do I see that their station roster has two not-yet-in-Columbus formats:

Modern AC KCKC Kansas City:  http://www.alice102.com/ (Really sounds more like a Classic-Hits-ish AAA to me)

Hip-Hop/R&B KBTE-FM Lubbock: http://www.1049thebeat.com/

Of course, I hear Urban AC now needs a better signal in Columbus. :)

they change "wink 107.1 to Urban AC ... call it "MaJik 107.1" .. and the "folks" will whine they can't hear it without static ;P k

Highly doubt 95.5 will blow up country. It was Ohio's first country station. Not only that, but it's signal comes in really well in southeast Ohio. Those folks would kill if someone took their Hawk.

What folks? The same listeners they've had for years. Because the folks that are making noise in the book would be WCOL.

My understanding is WHOK does have a 'strong' following in South Eastern Ohio in the strongest areas of their signal... Those listeners likely will never show up as they don't walk around with PPM devices...

Exactly Matt. I have friends in Perry county and that is all that they and all their neighbors listen to. 92.3 is actually hard to get in a lot of areas there due to the terrain. Actually a lot of the time it was a mix between WHOK and WPAY 104.1 out of Portsmouth. It came in better south of New Lex than WCOL does. Since WPAY got the hatchet, everyone went to the Hawk.

Let's get serious- do you really think Jeff Wilks gives a hoot in hell about Perry County, Hocking County or anywhere else outside the MSA? Not bloody likely.

Perry county would probably listen to T100 or 103.7 the Highway if The Hawk were to flip. I know T100 is listenable there.

Back when I worked in Columbus, (now over ten years ago) I once heard of a research study being done that showed the only 2 formats that could be done there were country or oldies. But, it was assumed switching from country would kill WHOK. How valid that is today? Don't know for sure, but I would suspect it would be a pretty strong vote to keep country on there.

Guess they couldn't decide between the two, so they compromised by going with with Country Oldies. :)
