Rewind Questions

Is David Emerson gone from Rewind? And from his morning show duties at Sunny?

Is it just me, or does Mark Dantzer sound even more sped up then usual these days? When he's on they should call the station Fast-Forward instead of Rewind.

Still like Rewind, though. Wish we could see the ratings. I'm picking up a renewed buzz about the station lately, and wonder if it's real and translates into numbers.

Not about Rewind (except from a competition standpoint), but I'll sneak it in: I drove on Rt 16 to Newark last week and was aghast at how 98.9 Jack-FM couldn't even begin to make it that far on the car radio. And I had thought it dropped off fast to the West.! That's got to be a big disadvantage for anything but an Urban format.

I tend to notice that 98.9 seems to last longer going north and south than east and west. The station is also has a directional transmitter which might explain most of the issues. The station signal has to not interfere with 99.1 in Dayton and 98.7 in both Mansfield and McArthur. All 3 signals are less than 75 miles away. You should see the issues 103.5 has in Zanesville now that 103.7 is on.

I enjoyed listening to him (Rewind is one of my top stations), but it seemed like he let his lifestyle get in the way of his profession a little too much. It's not always necessary to be loud and proud.

"but it seemed like he let his lifestyle get in the way of his profession a little too much. It's not always necessary to be loud and proud."

I find it rather odd that a mom or dad can be "proud" of their kids on the air...they can stand up against child bullying, they can stand up for organizations that protect their kids...and being "proud" of that on-air is perfectly fine. I find it odd that certain male jocks in the market can be "proud" when they mention how sexy or hot they think a celebrity is. Or a woman can state how hunky a guy is...and that's all fine and dandy.

My biggest problem is THAT. Others can be "out and proud" about whatever they want in this market. Yet, you put a gay man on the radio...who stands up for human rights, who stands up for equality, who entertains AND has a stellar ratings track record...and every once in a while mentions when a celebrity is lookin' good and THAT is being too loud and proud!

I also find it VERY odd that a certain GM in this market can sexually harass women in his building but face no pentalty and is still making an outrageous amount of money. Yet, this same man will discipline someone for something like standing up for human rights. Hmmm. I won't play the "game" that this market has created. I'm just me...and I'm really good at what I do...I have the ratings to back it up (even at the Christian stations I worked at). I don't want a game...and I refuse to play it. If that makes me a bad person, so be it. I truly feel like I left this city better than I found it...and that's one heck of an accomplishment!
