That is true. In 1977, I actually saw that commercial for the first time when I moved out into Berkshire County. Seeing Rex on a commercial on Channel 19 (WCDC, Adams, MA) made me miss Boston even moreso back then. "I'm from New Hamsha', but I LOVE New Yock!". Rex definately had difficulty in imitating a New England accent (he is not originally from New England). I recognized him immediately in spite of his fishing gear.
