RFP's Angela Allen Makes Republic's Top 10!

Congratulations to Radio Free Phoenix' Angela Allen, who has joined nine other nominees as "Best Morning Drive" personality in a poll conducted by the Arizona Republic.
Allen, who hosts RFP's "Anti-Morning Show with Angela Allen" weekdays from 4am-8am, is the only internet radio host to be included in this poll, at AzCentral.com.

Leave it to the Repulsive to get her name wrong (they leave off the final "a"). ;D

But since she's on an internet station and not radio, they should have called it "Morning Personality" instead of "Morning Drive Personality" since it isn't possible to listen to an internet stream while driving - at least not yet.
 
Oh, it's possible. If drivers can shave, read the paper, trim their toe nails, watch TV, have a three way phone conversation, they can certainly listen to a streamed radio station. What Nurse Jeff and I find interesting is The Arizona Socialist Republic would put syndicated talker Adam Carolla on the list and NOT local talkers Brue Jacobs & Barry Young of KFWhyEye. Hmmmmm....we smell a hidden agenda!

RFP rocks, Barely Young was ripping on RFP today, that's how I know that its cool.
 
Gosh, Berry Young ripping Radio Free Phoenix. Please don't get upset with him, after all as people grow older, they become more set in their ways and unable to accept change. He probably hasn't bought a new record since Jefferson Starplane!! But really, at least unlike music stations, Berry can truly have his own show and say what he wants, not shutup and do what you are told! Go Berry Go!!!
 
We at RFP (a blustery little internet station on the outskirts of town ) love Barry! We hear his percussionist Raul/Ramon checks us out for deep tracks from Billy Cobham and Stewart Copeland.

Barry, Michelle and Andrew all have a standing offer to come on and do a guest dj stint, anytime!

Barry was basicallly saying that you can't do drive time if someone can't hear you while driving.

He was just angry that the drive time category only went to DJ's not talkers.

I think that the KCDX Ipod should get a nomination too.

Beth and Bill? Aren't they the ones that do the show when there isn't christmas music?

That was my point as well. Once metro-wide wireless coverage exists and in-car internet radios are commonplace, things will be different. Give it a few more years.

And, to the person who said that older folks are too set in our ways: This 51-year-old geezer is listening right now for the first time and will definitely be bookmarking it. Not all the music is to my taste (is any station's though?), but so far what I hear is very well done. Keep up the good work! ;D

They also left off the Snooze 92/3 KT'R-FM troika of Ned, Connie and Aunt Carlos. ???

But I'm more surprised that they didn't try to sneak in "Scott and Tram on Mc12"
as a nominee. ;)

Hmmm...Scott and Tram, yes indeed! Sounds like the perfect morning blend!!! ;D

I just love how Mc12 highlights the diversity of their anchors:

Cooney (minority) and Curtis (whitey): Two different people, one great news team.
Scott (whitey) and Tram (minority): The perfect morning blend.

It's just so subtle! :D
