RG have gotten so bad I'm listening to Bert

I was the biggest RG fan before they switched to RG lite. In fact, I started subscribing to this board solely in an attempt to determine what was going on with the show and when I may expect to hear them again.That being said, this morning I awoke to what must have been 5 minutes of some guy playing on a piano, 4 or 5 callers calling in like the show was in some 3rd rate market while teasing a bit with ben the bunnyman. A bit that was the worst one they had before they had their colon cleaned. I finally sucked it up and started listening to bert again. I would rather listen to an endless converstation about Britney Spears and her child care habits then suffer though one more minute of what has become the worst morning show 96rock has had since rude.

Wow! I'm glad I'm not the only one. I was a HUGE RG's fan, but it has become unlistenable. You can really tell that Eric hates Larry, and doesn't want to be there anymore. Too bad...
 
I echo the sentiment. Reading the news bits all morning just so Larry can show how smart and witty he thinks he is, is killing me. Face it picking on steve all morning was definitely better. Southside is not going to get another show so he might as well suck it up and come on back or be destined to a life of : On the main stage Amber on the side stage the beautiful Lexus.
 
I admire the regular guys. They have a tough job. Everyday they must come up with creative material. On top of that, it must be entertaining. I can only imagine how demanding that must be. They can't rely on the front page of a newspaper like Boortz does. Anybody could do that except Peterson. Most of us out here are, or have been, employed in the radio business. That is what brings us together. Why don't we, instead of condem and insult, help them. Give them some creative thought. I am certain they read this board.
 
If I thought I could help, I would be the first one. I loved that old show. If I could make a recommendation it would be to ditch eric. He is the guy that I don't like. Playing the high school drop out know it all is wearing. I just want to enjoy the morning. God knows it's enough to sit in traffic. The last thing I need is larry and eric butting heads.Drop Eric add SSS.
 
AtlRadioFan, your attack on Eric appears to be very personal. You say that you liked him once, now you don't. You want him to loose his job. I guess you really don't like him at all. You want his family and his future to suffer. You are a fair weather fan. As far as SSS goes, he had his opportunity on the afternoon drive and totally blew it. It was the most boring, childish, lack of direction show ever aired on that station. I was embarrassed for him. SSS has talent as a back up to real talent like the regular guys. Their skill made him look good. Other than the mercy of the regular guys, SSS will fade in the sunset.
 
I listen to the radio all day long.Well,atleast from 6am-6pm,and I can honastly say the Rg show is the only entertaining show on Atlanta radio.In my opinion anyway.Its the only show that makes me laugh consistantly everyday.Everyone is different I guess,but the only improvement that I would like to see is them to bring back Garrett.Some like them,some hate them.But the day they arent on the air anymore is the day I go to sirius.Off the air they are really nice guys also.The whole staff is.If Your reading this guys,keep up the good work cause You guys rock.....

Thanks for straightening me out Bo. I don't know Eric at all. I have just listened to them on the radio for the last few years. I'm sure Eric is a nice guy. I don't want him to "loose" his job. I don't want his family to suffer or go hungry or any such thing, I really just don't want to listen to him. Perhaps his talents would be better utilized doing something else. Perhaps he could be a congressman?Frankly I'm not sure how good Larry would be without Eric or with anyone else for that matter. I agree that SSS is a sidekick kind of guy. He was great on the regular guys but terrible hosting his own show.I guess my point was that the show used to work and I really enjoyed it. Now it doesn't and I resent having to listen to entertainment buzz.
 
The fact that he'd (assuming he's a guy) even go to Bert as his second choice says more about atlantaradiofan than it does about the quality, or lack thereof, of the Reg. Guys. Bert does a chick show and the fact you can stomach it may mean the RG's just have too much testosterone for ya. Just an observation not a slam. I think Wally on the Buzz has made that morning show better than both of the shows being discussed.
 
I have sometimes listened to the Bert Show.I would like it better if they dropped Dert and Melisssa. Bert is small man's disease personified. He thinks he 23 and he must be pushing 40. That ridicluos long bangs hairfcut of his is the ultimate loser attempt at youth. Melissa and her holier than thou. Just because you are out of the closey doesn;tmean you must still sit on your high horse. Get off of it and get a personality. She seems like she has to try hard to be likable. I use to like when she was a fill-in on The Morning X.

that's odd.. the ratings are pretty good. how are yours? even the other post you put up seems to be fairly one sided, short sided? wrong? the ratings say different. [EDIT-personal attack]

he should call larry and ask if he can get back on the show. wachs made him a star.. soon it will all be over for him as far as radio.

Rhodes? I didn't see any comment regarding him... He wasn't even a part of the Regular Guys. I agree with earlier comments; someone give Southside a call and get him back on the show!
 
I still enjoy their show, although I could do w/out so many visiting comedians . RG would have to be much worse for me to change over to Bert.

TRG show may be a little off at times, but overall it’s the best game in town. I think they were better with Southside because he gave Larry and Eric someone to make fun of instead of each other.

I’ve tried O&A via the FreeFM Internet stream, and TRG are as good or better. It depends on the day and the bit.
 
Rodney Ho mentioned this thread on Access Atlanta and implied that they may have lost some edge because they are now scrutinized after the profanity suspension and lack of SSS to interact with. I don't know if those reasons matter, there was a point at which their website became his (Larry) website. When I first visited the website long ago, it wasn't obvious whether either of them was the main guy, now it's Wachs and his co-host. It wasn't that way before, was it?
 
Looks like Larry Wachs took this topic personally. He’s not happy about it being the Access Atlanta Radio Talk question of the day last week. Sounding a little defensive on the air this morning, Wachs said this thread was started by a disgruntled ex-employee.

Ho will be on TRG show today to discuss this and the demise of 99X. Should be interesting.
