RGV 103.3

I remember there was something on this channel back like in 2003 r so... but i recall it went off the air. I was driving home right now n i heard it similcasting la ley 102.5 and I picked it up pretty clear coming from McAllen (i live in penitas). maybe BMP bought it... i dunno, i hope so and hopefully its not another spanish station... we have enough of those... (no offense). when your scanning your radio down here for every 5 spanish stations there is one english. hopefully its a rap station B104 kills so many songs...(notice how i call it B104 its too mainstream and they play songs that make me change my radio) i like hot 106.1 in laredo n also the beat atx i think they do a good job. BMP has similcasted in the past, when 102.5 changed from exa fm they similcasted digital for like a week n then switched to la ley so who knows anything... shine some light on me ???

The FCC lists a number of low power FMs applying in the Valley for 103.3, McAllen, San Juan, Harlingen, San Benito, etc.

Maybe what you heard was some skip from 103.3 in Freeport (100kw) near Houston or Anahuac (25kw) and Linares (50kw) in Nuevo Leon.

It may be XHAHU in Ciudad Anahuac, NL.
FCC database shows an upgrade to 100kw with a 600m tower-- that's about 2,000 ft.
BUT the Mexican database shows it owned by the state of Nuevo Leon.
BMP may have done some wheeling and dealing to get this frequency and sub another station in Cd Anahuac.

I see several 103.3 translators in the Valley, but none licensed.
There are 2 new LPFM CP's for Harlingen on 103.3, with a "Time Share" agreement. CP's issued in late February.

Being church-y types, maybe they don't understand "local programming", and/or CDBS license applications.

juanv713956, got a GPS? Be a "radio detective", drive by and look for a new antenna.
