RGV KKPS flips again

I completely forgot about this. I was in South Texas this weekend and I guess Que Pasa has noticed that the Valley's Regional Mexican leaders are clearly KGBT and La ley. They are now back to almost 100% Tejano again. They changed their liners again and are now going for the listeners who are tuned in for Tejano and not Regional Mexican. They still have the Regional Mexican songs every now and then, but they are slowly making the transition (They still have their "Corridos" show at night). Smart Move? I say it is. The Valley is a place where Tejano has always worked. Why they left Tejano for Regional Mexican still puzzles me. I guess they were tired of always being second behing KGBT. Once La Ley showed up, they wished they were number 2 again.

The reason why KKPS decided to flip to Tejano is due to the new arrival of Tejano Powerhouse radio on 103.5 FM or 105.3 FM. With a new competitor in the Tejano market in the RGV why not compete instead of being beating around by it's Mexican Regional counterparts. Who knows the new Tejano station or even KKPS once again being Tejano could end up beating up on the Mexican Regional stations in the RGV.Good luck to Tejano radio in South Texas!!!

WRONG. KKPS did not flip because of a pirate station. This is the stupidest thing I've heard in a while. You must be affiliated with the Tejano Music Coalition. All Tejanos are too ignorant to see what works and what doesn't. Most of ya'll speak out of your butts (may sound mean, but it shure sound like ya'll are).

"Corporates are greedy and only go for the money" NO SH**, I would too and I know you would too. Would you be willing to invest millions of dollars on equipment and liscences for a station only to go on the air to loose money? I don't think so. The day I see a company do something, while knowing that they will loose money, is the day that horses will fly. To blame the death of tejano on corporates like Univision is just stupid, plain stupid. I swear, if I see another one of you Tejano Music Coalition members in the Austin area, I will go insane. Tejano is done, may I introduce you to Los Montez de Durango? Or do you still want to live in La La land where Tejano will come back one day? Dream on, but remember, one day, you will have to wake up. Reality is a Bitch.

[EDIT] FYI I am not a member of any stupid Tejano coalitions I post on here from what I read & hear okay homie so but off!!! And another people like you sometimes don't want to hear the truth when someone else post's about Tejano music & radio in general.Just because you have been on here for awhile that doesn't make you an expert.

Big deal, you hear opinions about how Tejano music is not dead. The key word there is OPINION.

Hear the truth? Give me facts that Tejano ain't dead! Tejano has been on decline since the 90's. Practically dead. Hip Hop and other types of American youth music killed the hopes of Tejano. Now days, you buy ads in a Tejano station to people who are retiring or need some type of elderly insurance. Tejano is roadkill. But if you still don't think it is, then please, give me proof, any proof that has signaled the increase in popularity of Tejano.

Oh, but that makes YOU one? Give me a break. It doesn't take a monkey to realize that a certain style of music is on decline. Either 1., You are a monkey, or 2., you are biased towards the music you like.

Saying Tejano is not dead is just as big as a lie as the one of Elvis being alive.
