Approval came on Thursday for the transfer of WAVP-AM 1390 Avon Park, FL from Anscombe Broadcasting Group, Ltd of Williamsville, New York headed by President Steve Reczka to Odyssey Broadcasting Company, Inc. of Cranston, Rhode Island headed by President/Director Michael Cardillo

The station's long standing filed, but not granted License Renewal was also approved at the time of transfer.

I used to see this guy's ads in the back of Radio World ALL the time. I didn't know he had any radio background or expierience.
 
Any changes likely?

At last report the station is running a Gospel format aimed at African-Americans. It seems to share some programming with WSIR-AM in Winter Haven FL.

The station will be changing formats once the new owner officially takes over programming, I know will still probably target the African American community....
