Rhubarb Back on the Radio

Atlanta radio legend Rhubarb Jones is back on the air in West Georgia, which he calls home. He has joined Great Classics 98.9 (WWGA) in the Carrollton area to handle middays.

WWGA is a Classic Hits station, not Country.

How close to Carrollton do you have to be to pick it up?

Looked on Radio-Locator, and the station is licensed to Tallapoosa. It's practically in Alabama, only 1850W. Doesn't look like it really gets east of Villa Rica. And, of course, you have Cumulus's translator on 98.9.

Owned by the folks who own the famous WKNG.

The translator is a secondary service. Get some Villa Ricans to bitch it's interfering with Ruby and they will have to mitigate it.

That was already done back when 98.9 first came on the airwaves as 99x. People apparently complained but nothing was done about it. You can pick of the station near the Douglas/Carroll county line in eastern Villa Rica. In Douglasville, 98.9 (Atlanta) begins to be primary. Post Rd area tends to be the spot where the two signals go at it with each other if you will.

The station is very popular in Carrollton. Go to any local store or flea market there in Carrollton and the station is being played everywhere. For the longest time, it was commercial free. This is a classic hits/pop station vs The River which is classic hits/rock.
