RIAA and courts reach a new low

This has got to be a new low even for the RIAA.

"RIAA Wins $8K Default Setlement Against Chronically Ill Teen"

http://www.fmqb.com/goout.asp?u=htt...efault-setlement-against-chronically-ill-teen

This 19-year-old girl, Ciara Sauro, who suffers from pancreatitis and severe depression, has mounting medical bills and whose mother brings in just $8.25 an hour was convicted for file sharing music, something she adamantly denies doing.

Unfortunately the justice system is what it is: imperfect laws enforced by imperfect people.

But something has got to be done about the RIAA. Isn't there anyone in power with the balls to put a leash (or better still a choker) on these b@#%&*ds?

"Music Industry to Abandon Mass Suits"

http://online.wsj.com/article/SB122966038836021137.html

Finally Chairman, B**ch Mainwol, and the other suits at the RIAA have gotten a clue that their mass lawsuit tactic hasn't been working. Instead it has turned into, as the Wall St. Journal put it, "a public relations disaster for the industry."

Now the RIAA will be working with ISPs, sending warnings by email to them that illegal file sharing on their servers has been occurring. These warnings will then be passed on to the perpetrators.

Sadly, it won't help our sick young woman here as the RIAA will continue to pursue existing lawsuits. But, hopefully, going forward it will lead to a saner resolution to this issue.
