Rich "Brother" Robbin To The Walrus For Afternoons

good for him live or voice tracked? like to listen to his internet oldies. going to give the shot gun some competition. lol

What happens to Cindy Pace?  She is one of the set DJ's in the market.

Looks like her page at walrusfm.com has been replaced by Tori Peck. Maybe Cindy can do 7-midnight and take over for the awful, voicetracked Tom Kent who currently runs in that spot.

Definitely voice tracked

Which doesn't make a difference when you're good at it. I listen to lots of Sirius/XM channels with voice-tracked jocks and they sound a whole lot better than anything I hear on "live" radio these days.

By the way, Rich Brother Robbin has been on-the-air for about 55 years and his voicetracking demo shows an how much energy he still brings to the job http://www.richbroradio.com/demo.mp3

he is cranking it this pm. good to hear him...good luck rich. wow. what energy w out energy drinks. maybe. lol

Reminds me of the good old days... I loved hearing the "fast'er" sped up songs ... I have a version of Light My Fire by the Doors, that I recorded on reel-to-reel tape, from KCBQ, and I think it sounds much better than the regular 45 or Lp version.

Blast from the past! Walrus certainly is spiffing things up. Nothing against Cindy - she's a great jock. But this is RichBro!

Rich Brother is sounding great in the afternoon! Station's music can use some tweaking though...Knock Three Times? Really? That's the best the Walrus can do from the 70's?

I hate it now and hated it when I had to play it as a jock when it was new, but it was number one in the US and UK and sold 9 million copies, so someone must have liked it.

I can't believe that they picked Rich Brother Robbin over Gene Knight. Gene is a fantastic jock and just as much a legend in SD (if not more so) than Rich Brother Robbin!

9 million seems a little high.

Okay, a lot high. The RIAA says the best-selling single of all time, Elton John's "Candle In The Wind" (Princess Di) version is around 8.8 million.

"Tie A Yellow Ribbon" was a much bigger record than "Knock Three Times" and it's believed to have moved 3 million copies.

I think Rich Brother Robbin is only temporary on The Walrus. Their website is the same and he said I think you will like my show the next few weeks.

Robbin...wasn't he buddies with Shepard during the KBST days? Rich is a screamer. And Jerry, (oops, Gene)
pulled in big numbers at KYXY during afternoon drive. I'll agree with 600kogo about Gene Knight...
...and is Christopher Lance still around?

But that doesn't mean anyone likes it now....

How about The Night Chicago Died and Billy Don't Be A Hero? But they were number #1 in the US too...so you just GOTTA play them too...And what about the 1910 Fruitgum Company? They had 3 Top 5 SMASHES in the US too...If you're programming oldies by chart number, you GOTTA PLAY THEM too. Right?Donny Osmond had 5 Top 10 smashes too..Somebody had to like them, right?

Chris just left KOOL in Phoenix after a few years in weekends and a few months in evenings.

Right on, George!

Believe it or not, there's still a place for those songs. But it's not regular rotation :D
