I'm recording this show right now. I hope I will be posting the two shows. One is for tonight and another one this Wednesday. Let's hope if Rich Stevens is doing very well for the time being. If he does, he will end up on "Fox Oldies" in the future if he can do fill-ins or on weekends along with Buffalo Bob Corsino where he is going to do weekends to replace Bob O or Gene Slather where he did Saturdays. Like I said, let's hope if Rich Stevens will end up on WGNY's "Fox Oldies". I'll keep my fingers crossed. ;D

I finally just came back from a meeting and I started recording the 2nd Rich Stevens show on WEOK/WALL today. I recorded the show as of 5 minutes late after Todd Rundgren's "Hello It's Me", and it works. I'm going to post these two airchecks later this week.

On that show, Rich was talking about his days at WKIP, and his days at WCZX's former "Oldies 97.7" and plays an aircheck of Rich Stevens from his days at "Oldies 97" back in October 2000. I remember that station since Rob Dyson sold the station to Aurora and then Cumulus which is now "Mix 97.7". I guess Rich Stevens sounds great on the station for these two special shows. But like I said, let's hope if WGNY's "Fox Oldies" will add Rich Stevens to mornings and get rid of Van Ritshie and keep Tom Duff in there. Van Ritshie sounds horrible when it comes to morning drive. This is some rumor mill I have to bring it up.

I caught part of the Rich Stevens show tonight on WEOK. It brought back found memories of the way radio used to be done. Yes, he talked between each song, but that was the way it used to be. He did frequent time checks; nobody does that today. He reminisced about the old days on WKIP and WCZX. He even had a few guests to talk about the old days and the amusing ways he would get in ‘trouble’. I don’t think he mentioned it but didn’t he start out doing weekends on WHVW back in the 60’s. He was a math teacher at my almamater Roosevelt High School and did the radio on weekends. Overall tonight’s show was a pleasant trip down memory lane.

It is amazing how good he is at "hitting the post". There are not many jocks these days that can do that. I like how he "talks" to the songs....When he played "These Eyes" by the Guess Who, leading up to the post he said "sir what are you holding there"......then the singer says "These Eyes......" ;D

I LMFAO'd when he called The Box Tops "The Box Bottoms"

The reverb on WEOK is a nice touch, too. It reminds me of what WABC sounded like in the 70's.

Too bad he no longer lives in the area, it would be great if he did a regular show on the TOC!
