Richard Krause Passes away

On my way to breakfast this morning, WHLO and WNIR
announced on the news that William Krause, former
president of Mediacom (owner of WNIR) had passed
away.
They mentiond many things that he had done in his
career and he sounded like a facinating man. I think
we all will be a little less because of the passing
of one of our own.
My prayers and thoughts go out to Mr. Krause's family
and friends.

(side note: I had put down Bill Krause earlier because
that is what I thought the stations had said. Sorry to all.)

A small correction, it was owner Richard Klaus. His son, Bill, also is associated with the station.

There is a story in this morning's edition of The Akron Beacon Journal regarding the passing of Mr. Klaus. It starts on Page B1, and concludes on Page B6. My apologies for not posting the ohio.com web link; but I'm not the most saavy of people when it comes to computers. I too extend my prayers to the entire WNIR family in this time of great personal loss.

I realize the original message was in error, but I felt the need to CORRECTLY give Richard Klaus' name at least somewhere in the subject header of this thread.

I won't go on at length...I already did so here:

<a target="_blank" href=http://ohiomedia.blogspot.com/2006/01/wnirtv-29-35-owner-passes-away.html>http://ohiomedia.blogspot.com/2006/01/wnirtv-29-35-owner-passes-away.html</a>

But I will extend here, again, my condolences to the entire Media-Com family and to the surviving members of Klaus' own family.

Re: Respecting Richard Klaus' Memory

The original mistake wa mine OE, I heard it this morning on
both WHLO and WNIR and I would swear that they both said Bill.
I corrected the subject line after seeing th other above
messages and reading the ABJ article.

Re: Respecting Richard Klaus' Memory

As someone who was hired at WKNT (now WNIR) by Dick Klaus...I can tell you...he was a wonderful, kind man...and a real broadcasting pro.

RIP, Mr. K.
