A few years ago, I was flying somewhere, and he was a passenger on my plane. He walked down the aisle and shook everyone's hand and spoke to every passenger who wanted to speak with him. Afterwards, he went back to his seat.
 
R.I.P. Mr. Simmons, you'll be totally missed and you're great handsome aerobic fitness instructor of guru of all time with some kind of laughs of fun. Woo Hoo! Oh Yeah!(y)
 
RIP Richard. Thanks for your amazing exercise videos and positive attitude. He changed the lives of millions of people for the better. Like with Jane Fonda, he made exercise 'fun' again :cry:

Unfortunately, all of us are dying. It’s called getting older. Life is the number one cause of death. Everyone who’s got it gets it.

My aunt was on a flight with him in the 80’s and described him the same way. Until he retreated from public life around 10 years ago, he was widely known as one of the most accessible celebrities. He used to know when the celebrity home tours were and would often wait outside for them so he could say, “Hi,” to his fans. He was even known for providing his personal email address to fans who wanted help losing weight. He was truly one of a kind.
