Richmond Radio 101

I'm moving to Richmond from Cincinnati in September. I'm not familiar with the radio stations in Richmond and was wondering if anyone would like to tell me some tidbits about it? I've been in radio for almost 10 years now and have worked in various markets. Just trying to get some information before I start sending my resume`.

Thanks for any advice you can lend me!

88.9: Public Radio. Primarily classical music.
92.1: "Power 92-1" longtime urban station. Radio One
93.1: "The Wolf" poor-signaled low-rated country/southern rock station. MainLine
94.5: "Q-94" Top 40. Oldest still-running FM format in Richmond. Clear Channel
95.3: "K-95" Country. Usually top 3 in the books. Cox
96.5: "The Planet" Run of the mill classic rock station. Cox
98.1: "Lite 98" High ranked AC station. Clear Channel
98.9: "Liberty" Variety Hits. MainLine
101.1: "Y-101" Alternative. Now lowest ranked FM in Richmond. Cox
102.1: "The X" Active/Modern Rock. Clear Channel
103.7: "Mix 103.7" Hot AC. Cox
104.7: "Praise" Gospel. Radio One
105.7: "Kiss" Urban AC. Radio One
106.5: "The Beat" Urban. Clear Channel
107.3: "Oldies 107-3" Oldies with a pretty sketchy signal in the eastern part of the metro. MainLine

The market for the most part is pretty average. No real rimshot signals to deal with, and most of those stations have full coverage in the metro area.

Anyway, enjoy Richmond! Winters will suck less than the Nasty Nati!

Mostly national stuff. WRVA-AM is the dominant AM Talker here, and they have the standard CC conservative fare. I think they do have a local morning show and something in the afternoons.

WLEE-AM is all news, but is all fed off the bird besides some local news info.
