Richmond radio ratings

It has been about 6 months since cox flipped y101 and mix 1037. Has it affected the ratings in the market at all? Both stations I notice are very repetitive sounding and have little air talent.

That is how Cox does things. They have several top rated stations in Tampa with small playlists and no air talent.

...and they haven't made much of a change in the overall landscape ratings-wise. I know they were practically giving spots away on the old Y101, so if they can get some money that normally would have gone all to Q94, then they've made progress on the financial end.

As for The River, they just added a music director whether he takes an on-air shift, who knows. I don't expect much more personality than what you hear right now. With The X, Liberty, and to a point Lite and Q around, I'm still trying to figure out, based on what I hear from their presentation, exactly what their "successful niche" will be. If it's "take a little budget from the other guys" in order to outbill the old Mix format, then maybe they'll accomplish their mission.
