Richmond Translators

I recently noticed that Brewer and Rogers took control of EMF's 95.3 and 90.5 translators, respectively, in the Richmond area.

Does anyone know what they're currently airing? If not, what are their future plans with them? Under EMF, they both ran the satellite feed of Air1.

I noticed Rogers has a CP to move the 90.5 New Paris signal to 101.1. I found that odd since G101-3 is only 7 miles away from the site and their signal seems fine in the area served by the new translator.

It also looks like 95.3 is moving from its small tower at Tom Raper RVs to the WQLK tower site along with 101.7. The FCC also has both stations documented as repeating WQLK (101.7 was previously listed as repeating WHON).

A move from 90.5 to 101.1 is considered a minor change (10.6 and 10.8 for IF spacing). It's much easier to get those through the FCC at this time, I believe. If it was anyone else, they would complain about the interference between 101.1 and 101.3, but since it is theirs, they can turn it on long enough to get a license to cover, and then do another minor move +/- .6 Mhz. Unless they were sitting right under the translator, a 101.3 listener probably would never notice given the difference in signal strength.

Also keep in mind that a translator's primary can change, so it is probably more convenient to use one of the FM stations while moving it around. Once it is situated, they can change it to an AM or an HD subchannel.
