Speaking of Rick & Bubba...

I was in a Babcock Furniture store this afternoon (Tuesday, shortly before 4pm) paying a bill and all of the large screen TV's had Fox News Channel on (blech). It took awhile for the clerk to handle my account request, so in my boredom I kept glancing over to watch anyway, too far away to hear the sound.

I could see the screens well enough, however. Suddenly, I recognized Neil Cavuto chatting away about something, and in the upper left corner of the screen was an unmistakeable picture of the Diabetic Duo (TM) with the simple caption "Rick & Bubba". Cavuto finished chatting, and then FNC segued into John Gibson's "Big Show" (semi-appropriate, I guess).

I'll admit, my curiosity has been piqued. Did anybody happen to see this and know what was being talked about? What did Cavuto have to say about the guys?

They're replacing Hannity and Colmes. :)

Nah, it was probably just something related to the many lawsuits spawned by their shortlived and horrible restaurant.

Re: Speaking of R&B...(Fox News props?)

Cavuto did the (BLEEP) show. He was in B'ham pushing his new book.. gave the mullet and bubber props for being a "family" show.... at that point i up-chucked all over my plasma screen... yuck

Re: Speaking of R&B...(Fox News props?)

Yeah, because it would be such a tragedy for anyone in radio, especially ALABAMA radio to say ONE thing positive about someone else. Rick and Bubba ARE a family show and they DO get huge ratings and they ARE syndicated on many stations. To me, how can you criticize a couple of good guys that have done good, without typing YOUR present situation here instead of hiding behind some fake name? Because you're bitter at the World for having to run their board. Ya know, you should use all your time and angst to figure out how radio is gonna combat IPods! Do any of you have any thought on THAT? Cuz lemme tell you, if I can listen to hundreds of commercial free talk and/or music channels on my IPod, do you think I am gonna sit through 12 minutes of spots to hear David Lee Roth? Not just NO, but EFFFFF NOOOOOOO. Dive back into being creative. Knocking someones restaurants aren't getting anything done.

SAVE RADIO! SHUT UP AND SAVE RADIO!

A good board op is working at 7-11 right now.

I'm sure your "show" consists of some compelling entertainment, like . . . "Here's another 40 minute rock block" or "T.G.I.F, stick around for Club Led". Middays on a Classic Rock is not a "show" it's an appliance. BTW, I'm just saying what I think.

Re: Speaking of R&B...(Fox News props?)

yep.. more power to ya.. oh..and it's number one in the market. not bad for a
"appliance" huh...
