Rick and Bubba on Victory 92.7

I noticed that the syndicated Rick & Bubba show is now on afternoons on WIJV 92.7 and its 107.3 translator. How in the world does that show fit on an otherwise religious station? Is this a trend toward taking the frequency back to a secular format? Or is it just throwing stuff on a wall and seeing what sticks?

Yeah, I noticed they had a sign up in the yard at the church on Cedar Bluff that owns the station advertising Rick and Bubba. I thought it was kind of odd too. Who knows what they are doing. All I know is that there are contemporary Christian stations out the wazoo in this market, so hopefully they are going to go back to a mainstream format. (Weve got Love 89, Life 88.3, Victory 92.7, Faith 1240, and J103 from Chattanooga that can be heard in a lot of the market.). Isn't that a bit of overkill? Not sure what else could be done with 92.7's marginal signal, but just about anything would be better.

I heard Rick and Bubba on 1240 around 5:50 on Monday, before the WBIR News simulcast. Which by the way I think is still cool that they do it on the old WBIR-AM.

By the way Rick and Bubba are well known for their Christian beliefs and are so far syndicated on country, talk, christian talk, christian music, and possibly classic rock stations

Don't forget Praise 96.3 and that station from Clinton on 95.3 too.

I didn't know Rick and Bubba were being marketed to Christian stations now. I know they were previously heard on 97.1 in Nashville. Now they are on 1510 WLAC over there. I think they have had a few rock affiliates also.

WIJV may have found something that will get them some listeners. Not that I personally think Rick & Bubba are all that, but they seem to be just what might sell in rural East TN -- conservative, sports-loving, hunter-loving talk. The 92.7 signal is very poor here in W. Knoxville, but it comes in down I-75 to Cleveland and on I-40 west of Crossville. Might just be the only thing that this signal is good for.

For Christian music (contemporary, rock, gospel, etc), we have plenty of better stations and signals here in Knoxville. Not that I like the talk shows on their AM station, WIFA 1240, but WIJV surely would benefit from just going to a full simulcast on all 3 signals, 1240, 92.7 and 107.3.
