Rick DeBruhl Leaving Channel 12

That's a real loss ot Channel 12 and Phoenix TV news in general. Like Lew Ruggiero, Rick was (and is) a no-nonsense, straightforward reporter. And he knows a thing or three about Phoenix. On top of that, he's a genuinely nice guy. I'm sorry to see him go.

The only time I watch 12 News is on Sunday mornings (also known as the Melissa Gonzalo Comedy Hour) is to see the 2 Rick DeBruhl segments:

Sunday Squareoff is an entertaining panel show moderated by DeBruhl. I've gotten introduced to a lot of the AZ legislators and pundits. Rick keeps the show moving and has good topics.

The Basement Tapes is when DeBruhl goes back into the archives (usually from "25 years ago") and shows a local/national/world news story. I like the local ones best since I didn't live in Phoenix back then.

I hope 12 News keeps both segments.

I wish Rick DeBruhl much luck.

What a huge loss for Channel 12! Now, we see how they could afford to hire the new traffic reporter! They can hire another VJ, who has extensive experience in the Yuma market, now. I guess that Scott Light will be anchoring Sunday Square-off now!

Brian4, yesterday's Sunday 12 News Today was infinitely better with Joe Dana. It was actually almost watchable (although Melizza's constant mangling of third-grade vocabulary is fun to watch). I was just telling someone about the "Harry Potty" incident last year -- actually when she was anchoring on Saturday am.

Rick has been a "sideline reporter" at the yearly Barrett-Jackson/Scottsdale
car 'casts on the Speed Channel.

Rick has been showing up at various races for a number of years now. He does a very good job.
