Rick Dees out at Star 93.5

Rick Dees is no longer in the afternoon slot at KQCS 'Star 93.5', I read an article that all his stuff moved from Dial Global to Compass Media. Zak Taylor is in the 3-7 timeslot now, I might also mention he is also doing nights at KBOB, Rock 104.9 and does weekends on KBEA, B100- he's a busy guy! Not that I listened everyday, but I thought Dees had a good fit on 93.5

Thoughts? I Really like 93.5, I've seem some discussion elsewhere of Cumulus trying to flip it to Oldies, since KUUL is CHR now. Music wise, you really can't get some of the stuff on 93.5 anywhere else in the QC, you could argue Mix, but everytime I tune in, always 80's and 90's. I really like some of the early 2000's they have on 93.5, which are probably in the playlist at Mix, but not played as often.

Just an update on Star, no morning show....still. Steve Donovan still does Middays (and afternoons at 97x), you have Zac in the afternoons now, and John Tesch at night still.

What happened to Jeff James? How long has he been gone?

Sunds like a great time to flip 93.5. I wonder if they would change 93.5 to B93.5 and flip 99.7 to Rock 99.7 and put a country format again on 104.9 to attack WLLR? I know they tried and failed before, but with Kiss doing Top 40, it had to cut into B100 some.

As far as oldies, 93.9 is doing oldies, Rewind 93.9. Not a great signal but it serves the market OK. I doubt they would go to a True Oldies format, the demographic for it is not there, hence the #5 station in the market dumping the format. 5th is way better than 9th but 12+ doesn't pay the bills.

I wouldn't read much into Rick Dees being out at Star 93.5 Cumulus had a group deal to air his daily show, and, as far as I know, it's no longer on any of their stations. I know it's out here in Mid-MO and in Topeka.

I had never thought of Cumulus doing a Country again...which I would love, I basically listen to all the stations...B100, Star, 104.9, WLLR...all different formats, as for B93.5...don't think they are going to flip CHR, as far as I remember, 104.9 basically used to be on 93.5 as "93 Rock"...so if they want to move country on 104.9 again, why not just keep B100 CHR, move Rock to 93.5, or even keep Rock on 104.9 and put country on 93.5.

I really like what's going on at Cumulus unlike some friends I've seen on Facebook. So if everything stays where it's at, I'll be fine...I love some of the 2000's pop you get on 93.5, I just cant' stand Mix 96, way to much 80's and 90's for my liking, for me listening to 93.5 it seems like good song after good song. I really like some of the 2000's and new rock on 104.9. I also think B100 has become a TON better since It got competition at 101.3. But...the idea of them putting another Country on sounds like a good idea also, chances of it beating WLLR? Probably not too much.

As for Jeff James...it been awhile, they haven't had a morning show on Star for awhile, can't remember an exact date...but it's probably got to be close to 2 years, if not more.
