Over the past couple of weeks, as part of his new deal with Westwood One, Rick Dees has started a new weekday show. As far as I can tell, there are some Cumulus stations that are using it during middays instead of the jockless automation they had been carrying. I haven't heard it yet as I cannot get the nearest affiliate to me in my workplace, and streaming at work is a big no-no. That station has replaced a voicetracked shift from the co-host of the morning show at the cluster's Country station with Rick. Since the stations that are live and local middays aren't carrying it, it looks like it isn't a mandate from corporate, but a good option for stations that are not live and local in that time slot.
My question is, do the stations still program the music locally and just have breaks with Rick, or is fed with music too?
So far the affiliates that I know of (all Cumulus):
WZYP - Huntsville,AL
KLYV - Dubuque, IA
KKHQ -Waterloo, IA
