Rick Elias

Fans of contemporary Christian music may recognize the name Rick Elias. He had done solo and studio work in the early 90's and became the founder of Rich Mullins's Ragamuffin Band, who continued to play together after Rich's death in 1997. In recent months he had been suffering from terminal brain cancer. THere had been fund raisers for him in recent months including a Go Fund Me page that is still open.

Rick passed away on April 2nd. Rest in peace Rick.

Rick's "Ten Stories" had just been released. He was scheduled for a concert but had transportation issues. By the time he arrived at the venue, fewer than a couple dozen fans remained. If Rick had explained the situation, said sorry but not tonight and cancelled we'd have understood. We did in fact give him just that opportunity when we heard why he was late. But Rick instead said thanks for the offer but give me a minute or two to set up and ended up doing a full concert for the few of us. A very special evening.
