I had to be away from the internet for 3 months and wanted to comment on the changes on Atlanta radio.
I happened to catch the change at 1160 and glad to know that Phil Hendrie is on our radio again because I missed Phil Hendrie by not having internet. I have to wait for high speed again to do any internet listening of any station or programming on the computer.
I heard that WGST got the weather channel back from WGKA and Salem went Accu-weather. Outside of Rush, Beck and Coast to Coast..WGKA is better than GST.
I started seeing the Steve and Vikki spots on TV but I guess b98.5 can not mention the new morning team until later on its air or web site.
I read the Fish finally broke into the top 10 in 25-54 and that it billed around 10 million last year. I was suprised to see that they finally did a major revamp to their site and it looks great. I see that PM Driver Dan Ratcliffe is on a 4 day work week with middayer Parks covering the Friday drive home and PD Mike Blakemore covering her shift on Friday. It looks like they locked the part-timers into shifts so the on-air current jock picture pops up the web site.
I am suprised to read that Steve Harvey on 102.5 was tied with Tom Joyner on 104.1 in the latest ratings. Pretty interesting that Cox's top 5 rated 100kw Kiss has real competition from the Radio one's 3kw Grown Folks Radio.
I still find it hard to believe that I don't hear country on 106.7 because I was here for the launch in the mid 80s but the signal loses me now.
After spending the last 5 years on my own I had to move back home while I lived just off of 285 on the northside for that time but now I am back in Stockbridge. I was scanning the dial and catch J's 100.1 translator and WMVV's 107.1 translator along with some coverage of Macon radio again. I will be able to sample radio towards Macon again.
Overall there was no major format changes in town but its nice to finally have the world wide web again.
I could not fiqure out my password so I had to re sign in to radio-info so Rick Rose is now Rick Rose 2.0
