Woke up to the news that Glens Falls-area radio legend Rick Knight died on Saturday. I haven't been able to find out much more information than that, but thought readers on here might want to know. I am sure many of you remember Rick for his four decades plus in Glens Falls/Capital District radio.

I had the pleasure of working with Rick for five years while he was morning man at Classic Hits Q101.7, his most recent radio gig. He was amazingly easy to work with for someone with his talent and experience in radio, and I also loved watching him perform with The Bodells, an amazingly versatile and harmonious local rock and roll band.

Rick was a huge talent in both broadcasting and music. Rest in peace, Rick. You earned it, brother.
 
Wow, what a sock in the face. I also worked with Rick for a couple of years, working mornings while he was on the air. He and I would have chats about Albany radio all the time. Quite sad, take care my friend.
 
I too worked with Rick (in the late 80s and early 90s). First at the old I-107.1 WAYI and then at at 100.5 WKBE (Just as it signed on).

From what I've heard, it appears at this point he suffered a heart attack.

Great guy. We had a lot of fun, and I will miss him.
 
Hey ADD, Rick was my neighbor, he had a heart attack mowing the lawn. Another neighbor found him hours later, at about 7pm. It appears that he did not suffer. Radio and the Glens Falls community suffered a great loss. Last time I talked with him he was happy and in good health, I think he was only 58. What a shock.

GLENS FALLS — David W. Titterington, 59, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, May 12, 2012, at his home. David was more commonly known as “Rick Knight” from the Knight in the Morning show on Q101.7 in Glens Falls. He was a longtime and well-known local radio broadcaster and had many loyal and devoted radio fans in and around Glens Falls.

I was truly an honor and a pleasure to work with Rick on several different stations over the past 18 years.

Tomorrow 5/15 between 6am and Noon, Q101.7 will honor Rick's life and contribution to radio in the area. I will be joined by Rick Allen, Steve Van Zandt, Jeff Davis and many more people who have had the pleasure of working with and knowing Rick.
