So...Rick Marino is out at Mix 92.9? What happened? Didn't the Mix morning show pull great numbers? Interesting...
 
That happened fast. Maybe it's nothing, but Anna's page is still up yet all of the content is suddenly gone. I thought the morning show was doing well. Maybe Rick's moving on to bigger and better things?
 
What a shame to let such a talent go like that. Good guy too.

It could have been Barbara Bridges not liking him. If you confront her in any way, she will turn on you in a heartbeat. This is a program director who doesn't believe in cross-promotion! ???
 
Perhaps 92.9 will take a page from the old Star 97's playbook. About five years ago Star ran an online contest. The seventh caller would become the morning show's new co-host along J.T. Yeah, that was an impromptu and random contest (sarcasm).

I think the winner was Lulu, now on V. I could be wrong, but the winner had some on-air experience.

Attention clusters and station owners: You have just been handed a golden opportunity, gift-wrapped on a silver platter. Hire Rick for mornings and get a Mix competitor on the air! You may never have another chance like this again to knock Mix from the top of the heap.

Actually, there's an entire air staff out there...Rick Marino, Coyote & Cathy, Bobby Knight, Rob Michaels..Sadly in today's radio landscape, it isn't about how good you are,..it's how cheap you can work

two things Cathy is the reason Coyote is out of work and Rob would do more good in mkt 100+
 
Cathy is the reason Coyote is out of work would you elaborate on this comment..i have never met cathy, but did work briefly with coyote at the old power country thing..when she was suddenly thrust upon coyote i did think it was an odd pairing since her background as far as i knew was country. was there friction between coyote and niki courtney..thus the swap..and something behind the scenes between C&C ? It's curious that the C&C web page is still up and has frequent current posts wondering when they are coming back..(we know better)..and the posters appear to be primarily women by an overwelming margin..just a curious old roc joc here.. :eek:

Cathy ended Coyote's career, ask anyone here. Steve and Al wanted to keep Coyote and not Cathy. she thought she was still at wsm in the mid 80's and wanted to be treated like it.

#99 would not be a bad idea. maybe jan could tell him how it's done.
 
well i guess i'll show what a male pig i am at the ripe old age of 56..a woman pd at mix92 ? ..another apparently doing the prima donna thing with coyote ?...too much undeserved ego for me..we had a gurl jock back at the old whin fm (104.5) in '71..but she was cool..partied and drank like a guy..she was one of the boys , if you catch my pitch there..none of us thought we were better than the other..guess we were having too much fun to think about egos..yea...FUN ..some of you corporate suits ought to try that sometime...go out with your employees..see how real talent lives...hell you might even have FUN..
