Clear Channel AC KHMX/Houston Asst. PD/MD and afternoon personality Rick O'Bryan will stay within state lines as he moves up co-owned Hot AC KDMX (Mix 102.9)/Dallas, becoming the station's PD. He takes over programming duties at the station from Clear Channel/Dallas OM Pat McMahon. O'Bryan will also handle on-air duties as Mix's new afternoon drive personality.

"Rick is the perfect fit for KDMX," McMahon tells R&R. "He's a real student of the Hot AC format and a solid on-air guy. After years of tutelage from Houston AC programmer Buddy Scott, Rick is ready to sit at the big table with the other Texas PDs. He's been a tremendous asset in Houston, and we're confident he'll bring game to his new position in Dallas."

O'Bryan's previous experience includes stints at KWMX and KCKK in Denver, and at KIOI/San Francisco. O'Bryan's return to Dallas as KHMX's PD is also a homecoming -- he was the original evening host at KHMX when it launched in May 1991.

"If I were to hand-pick the one market, one station I would like to program, this would be it," O'Bryan says. "I can't wait to move up I-45!"
