Rick Stewart Seriously Ill

Some of you may not know that KFBK's Rick Stewart is in the hospital in very serious condition with a life-threatening kidney ailment. A fund to donate blood has been set up. Donors can go to any blood source facility and ask that their donations go to account number P757.

Rick is a great guy... not to mention a top-notch broadcaster and long-time Sacramento radio fixture. His comments during the traffic reports were something I always looked forward to at Y92.5. (Not to mention his comments made off the air.)

I hope you'll keep him in your thoughts and prayers in the coming days.

Dana,

You are right, Rick is absolutely top drawer! A wonderful talent with more than 30 years on the air in Sac Town. He is deserving of your prayers and he needs them.

Rick is a KFBK legend. There's not a person on the planet who knows more music trivia. He's a fine person and a true professional. It was an honor working with him in Sacramento. My thoughts and prayers go out to Rick and his family.

I might be wrong, but if I recall, I believe Rick also did morning news with Mike Reynolds on then News/Talk KPLA-770 (now KCBC) back around 1991-92.KPLA was also the home to conservative talk show host, Geoff Metcalf before he went to KSTE-650.In fact I believe both Rick and Geoff went to KSTE at the same time. KPLA was an amazing station for the little time it was around. I will definately be praying for Rick.

A friend of mine stopped by to see him, and he's not taking any visitors.
