Rick Thomas back to Z-90?

All Access has a blurb about Rick Thomas leaving San Antonio and coming back to Z-90. Back and forth three times? Must be pretty firm that the new owners will keep the format.

Good, the station needs him.

Amen!

Diana really screwed the pooch on this one. Even with CC not keeping the property, it should be better than it is...even with NO programming.

Yep... Rick Thomas is a programming GENIUS! He took the station to number one last time he was there in such a short amount of time... and just as fast... CC dragged it to the bottom. I for one am excited, and XMOR needs to step up their game... NOW!

Re: Rick Thomas back to Z-90?/Stapleford

Let's be a little more careful about throwing around phrases
like "programming genuis". There have been very few of that
type, I could count a few: Bill Drake, Buzz Bennett, David
G Hall, and others. Thomas is a good rhythmic CHR PD, but
remember the market dynamics for the format were simpler
back then. He had virtually no competition, and playing
for the High Density Hispanic market he owned it. Let's
see what the genuis is able to do. Also interesting that
the new/old PD of 91X really hasn't been able to find work
as a PD in years. Halloran would have been a better choice,
Stapleford has been basically a one-trick-pony.
