Rick Ucchino now working for Clear Channel

I heard Rick Ucchino, formerly of Real Talk 1160 and FM 100 The Fan, doing the news on WLW earlier tonight. Sounded good. I guess he replaces Dean Miuccio, who moved to Florida.

I'm hoping he can be used for more than just updates. I know that's what he did at the two stations I mentioned, but he was also co-hosted sports shows and may be a good fill-in for Lance or Mo, on either WLW or ESPN 1530.

Yes. Rick is more than a fill in guy. However, this is a foot in the door and really good news. I always liked him. Good employee, IMO.

speaking of news, overnights I am wondering if any of you know where previous updaters who handeled that duty for past 3 or 4 years....barb cane and terry lafferty have moved? last nights bubba bo on wlw said he might be replaced by the overnight producer in a few weeks...what's that all about?

regards

I don't know. It could be that they are cancelling the weekend trucking show since they will be off of XM in a few weeks?

I heard the comment from Bubba Bo in question, and it seemed to me that he's relinquishing the weekend show to actually have some time off which he apparently has not had since 2004. He has a full-time radio gig and is doing the weekend show on WLW. Since the weekend show is still fully sponsored I doubt the XM move will have any effect.

Again, just speculation and not facts.

I'm sure it's not easy to do the overnight shift on the weekends and then do mornings on WSCH 5 days a week. He's also known to do midnight to 5am and then the morning shift when Steve Sommers is on vacation. I do like hearing him on WLW and Bubba Bo will be missed.
