"Ride With McBride" Starts Tuesday 1/3 on WSJS

From wsjs.com - it looks like new WSJS/600-1200 program director and afternoon host Beth Ann McBride starts the on-air portion of her new job tomorrow afternoon (1/3) at 3 PM.

The BA show is just terrible. If the point of hiring her was to get 'SJS's numbers as low as 'MFR's, then they NAILED it! What the hell was Hamilton thinking? Did he even consider ANYONE else? This is just disastrous and it won't get any better. Really. They should consider re-hiring Dusty Dunn. He is terrible, but he is still better than her.

Nothing like getting your first talk gig in a top 50 market. If the people working at SJS can't see how low they are on the CBS totem they must be blind. Anybody else notice how apolgetic she was in the D&M segment?

Apologetic? She nearly CRIED! What I heard was "I supported you when your wife died and you went through some terrible times and NOW you're ripping me when you know I'm in WAAAYY over my head". Don was just keeping it real. She was in a vulnerable spot and Mike seemed to sense that and come to her defense, even though he liked her less than Don when she worked on the show.

The GSO/W-S/HP market definitely has some BAD radio, but she is sub-par even for that mkt. She may be a perfectly nice person, but they have put her in a situation she is ill-equipped to handle. It is almost sad.

Completely agree. I thought maybe for the 1st week I wasn't giving her a fair shake, but jeeeeeez! She is obviously in way over her head and that sound you hear is the WSJS audience NOT listening.

I don't get it. You never give up control of the show. What was she thinking? Did she think she could take on those heavyweights, or was she so intimidated that she let them on?

Today was it for me. It was either a non stop ad for american idol...talking about it or playing clips, or trying to drag a conversation out of the news guy...since no one in the audience was calling.
