Ridiculous statement in Rhythm/Roots commercial

I was eating supper in the chinese restaurant I go to which had WXBQ playing on its speakers, when I heard something very intriguing in one of the commercials.

Now, the Rhythm & Roots Reunion is supposed to be a celebration of musical heritage, which means there is (among the other things there which I won't discuss right now) quite a bit of bluegrass and old-time country music being played & sung there.

So they're running a commercial for Rhythm/Roots, and I was stunned to hear the following statement:

"It's not your daddy's country music event."

I'm sorry, but there had better be something dads, granddads, and great-granddads can enjoy there, or what's the use of it? Are they gonna just up-&-ban bluegrass music there? "I'm sorry, but 'Uncle Pen' just isn't relevant to today's fan, so we can't let you do that here"? Nope! And gosh forbid if they do.

And for those who don't care about piddly things like this, and are more "biz-minded" - It's not who's daddy's country music event? Just 18-34 - which is almost an entire generation anyway? The 50+'s who dang-well listen to the station?

Not a very well-thought-out thing to put in there.
