Rigging A Phone

I have a smoked Telos on my hands, but need to get them at least one phone line into the control room until I can open this thing up. I know a cheap speaker phone can be rigged for something temporary, but I've never tried it. It just needs to be padded down. Any suggestions? An audio transformer from RS, or just a couple of resistors? Thanks in advance!

Yes, try a 600 to voice coil (8 ohm) transformer. If it's too hot, 10 k on one or both leads will knock it down to a usable level.

Don't know how bad your telos is smoked, but 9 times out of 10 it's those solid state relay chips. They are cheep and easy to replace. If that's the problem, I wouldn't waste the time rigging something else up.
