RIP Beano Cook

ESPN college football commentator Carroll "Beano" Cook passed away last night at age 81. He had been with ESPN since 1986, and ABC prior to that.

Beano was a Pittsburgh institution. He had an encyclopedic knowledge of local sports history,
particularly college football. He had been making local radio appearances until fairly recently,
but it was clear for the past couple of years that his health was failing. He will be missed.
