Gainesville/Ocala RIP Boomer Hough, WUWU and WGGG star

Boomer Hough had a heart attack while driving and died following a single vehicle accident on the evening of January 13. Those that knew Boomer personally and professionally will miss his wit and kind personality. Some may also know that Boomer got his nickname as the drummer for "The Maundy Quintet", a local rock band that included Don Felder and Bernie Leadon who went on the co-found "The Eagles". Boomer was offered a chance to join, but didn't want to move to California.

Boomer lived right next door most of grade school thru junior high, he was into his snare drum and being a DJ back then. There were four of us neighborhood kids, the other three of us got together in late January and talked of Boomer. Had seen articles and such on him but couldn't find any contact information.
