RIP Clarke Ingram

The message before this one was posted by Clarke as he was active on this site. I met Clarke via this site. My business partner and I ran the 1550 AM in Braddock PA for other companies until one day we purchased it. Clarke asked what I planned to do with it which was a good question. It had been programmed via satellite for many years. I told Clarke I wanted to disconnect the satellite and originate the programming. He explained about a R&B oldies format he wanted to test. It was designed for the original WZUM 1590 but that station turned into dust. We were able to get the WZUM call assigned to 1550. At midnight on July the 4th, 2013 1550WZUM went on the air with Clarke's format and his voice. This is a link to Scott Fybush's article about Clarke: NorthEast Radio Watch 11/27/2023: Clarke Ingram – A Giant Is Gone
