RIP DAN FOGELBERG

Very sad to hear Dan has lost his battle with cancer.I loved his music.I wore out his
LP's and CD's.All the great hits and his fabulous 1985 bluegrass LP.Dan's music is a huge part of my life.Saw him in Raleigh with my buddy Bill Benjamin in 2003.I hope radio does a proper tribute to an extremely talented singer/songerwriter. He had like 15 top 40/AC hits and put three songs on the country charts.Great lyrics, great melodys.Great artist like Dan are few and far between.I feel kinda like I've lost a friend....

I too loved Dan's music. Leader of the Band, Run For The Roses, Heart Hotels, Longer,... and so on all great songs. He will definately be missed. A friend of mine actually went to I think college with him many years ago. Allen you are so right my friend great singer/songwriters like him are definately few and far between these days. And yes radio should do a fitting tribute to him. To me Chistmas wouldn't be Christmas without his Same Old Lang Syne althogh techically not a Christmas song, but it just "fits" at this time of the year. I didn't know he had a bluegrass album, interesting.

Yeah John, Dan was great. His Bluegrass LP was called "High Country Snows".It was released in May 1985.It contained an AC hit called "Go Down Easy" which also made the country charts.Another single "Down The Road/Mountain Pass got to #33 on the country charts I think.Epic didn't want Dan to do a bluegrass LP
but he loved the music and basically told the label he was going to do it anyway.
The LP had some of Nashville's best pickers on it and I think it sold a couple of million copies.I'll make you a copy if you want one. It was great to see you and your folks yesterday. Thanks for the CD's. BTW I'm playing "Make Love Stay" right
now.What a song!!!!

COOL Yeah I'd like a copy of that! It was also great to see you and your family yesterday too. I had a great time. Yeah when I wrote the message I was listening to The Very Best of Dan Fogelberg CD I got from you.

1. Part of the Plan
2. Souvenirs
3. Tullamore Dew/Phoenix

Just some of the other great Fogelberg songs that I remember off hand. RIP, Dan.

I just saw this. Are you sure that's not Dan Seals?

No Dan Fogelberg did the bluegrass LP High Country Snows in 1985.Go Down Easy made the AC/Country/Pop charts. It was after Windows & Walls(1984) and before Exiles(1987).It was A million seller LP...Dan Seals was in the midst of his nice run on the country charts between 1983-1992.He had something like 15 #1 singles after his split with John Ford Coley in 1980.

I wonder where I got the idea that was Dan Seals?

You'd think I'd know if it was Dan Fogelberg.

Well, I haven't put that one in my fantasy iPod yet.
