RIP Don Robinson Kingston,Ont

Longtime radio host of "All That Jazz" on 98.3 CFLY-FM Don Robinson passed away last night after complications from diabetes.
Don's last show was the night of July 26 1998. The show All that jazz was taped sent and rebroadcasted on radio stations across Canada. here is a link to here one of Dons Shows. http://donrobinsonwithallthatjazz.ca

Wow, I had no idea that CFLY used to have such classy programming!

RIP Don Robinson, as Kingston has lost a former radio voice with a clear passion for music.

Don was let go when 98.3 CFLY switched from Easy MOR format to Hot AC and 1380 CKLC switched from a Hot A/C CHR Format to Lite Hits in 1998. Fly-Fm was like 98.1 CHFI in Toronto but CFLY had Jazz 3 nights a week

CKLC was Hot AC as recently as 1998? Wow, that's late. Then again, until 2001, Kingston only had two commercial FM outlets: CFLY and CFMK, the latter of which was country.

Kingston radio today is awful. Even though there are six commercial radio stations, they all treat news as an afterthought, and not one station carries the Blue Jays. The city has no fewer than three rock stations, but nothing even remotely resembling news/talk (other than the CBC rebroadcast from Ottawa).
