RIP Geoff Edwards 1931-2014

Southern Californians first knew Geoff Edwards because he worked in radio at KFMB, KHJ (in the pre-"Boss" years, 1964-65), KFI, KMPC and KSUR, but he was nationally known as a television game show host. TV Media Insights has an obituary which details his tv career. He was tapped to be the original host of Family Feud but was committed to another production company and NBC so Richard Dawson became host. I bet Edwards wouldn’t have kissed all the female contestants the way Dawson did!

2nd TV game show personality lost in 2 weeks. I HOPE not 3 soon. He hosted Treasure Hunt, Starcade and Jackpot! RIP Geoff.
Here's that big $38,750 Super Jackpot win, one of the only Jackpot! episodes left since most were wiped by NBC - 1974.

AND...two big wins in Treasure Hunt including Rose and the $50,000 in 1981 (?)

Also the host of Chain Reaction when it aired on USA Network:

This version was produced at CFCF in Montreal, with CFCF weatherman Rod Charlebois as the show's on-camera announcer.

Edwards was also one of the news reporters in the basement of the Dallas Police station when Lee Harvey Oswald was shot.
