RIP Gerry Rafferty

Such a talented artist lost at an early age today. "Stuck In The Middle With You" was a great introduction to Gerry with "Stealers Wheel". Even their follow-up, "Star" has somewhat of a cult following. Of course, Gerry's masterpiece was "City to City", with great late 70's hits "Baker Street", and "Right Down The Line". Some might even argue his career would have been even greater if not for the disco craze. Who knows. But a great loss to the 70's pop world.

What a shame..such a talented artist. Also from 1979, he had "Days Gone Down" a song that's not heard on radio anymore, but is one of his best, besides "Baker Street" and "Right Down the Line". Rest in Peace, Gerry.

Other Rafferty faves of mine. From Stealer's Wheel, the single "Everyone's Agreed That Everything Will Turn Out Fine". From his solo days, "Home and Dry" a modest hit single. He did a very angelic version of The Beatles "Because" on his most recent CD of just a year or two ago.
