RIP Glenn Frey

Another one leaves us too early. RIP Glenn. What a legend. He was a legend with The Eagles, and I enjoyed his solo career as well - "The Heat is On" from Beverly Hills Cop being one of my favorites from his solo career.

I too liked "The Heat Is on" but my favorite of his solo hits was "The One You Love". I liked a lot of the Eagles' more easygoing hits but also "Hotel California" and "Heartache Tonight". I'm just sorry they had to wait on their Kennedy Center Honors induction ceremony so that he won't be there for it.

I don't know that they had to wait on the Kennedy Center Honors so much as the group wanted him to be there with them to receive the honor, and he was just so sick that he could not get there. He was Mr. Fitness most of his life, and like a well built shay that just keeps going until it falls apart all at once, to paraphrase a judge, he fell apart all at once - young as he was.

Not sure about Mr. Fitness, but he was a social golfer, who was ranked at one time in the Top 20 of all musicians, and he regularly took part in the Pebble Beach Pro-Am.

I was just going by the first hand account of his friend, Bob Seger, who knew him since he was 18.

That must have been why they didn't, but I know they were supposed to be honored this year.

Other songs I like that were mentioned by high school classmates on Facebook were "Seven Bridges Road" and "I Can't Tell You Why".
