RIP: Jim Dudas

WJPA is reporting that Jim Dudas (J.D. the D.J.), the host of their Mon Valley memories program passed away over the weekend.

Far too young to be gone. I know Jim had not been well. Truly one of the good guys. He will be sorely missed.

Wow, I'm really surprised. I hadn't spoken with Jim for a long time. He started Mon Valley Memories when I was the PD at WESA. I liked Jim, and he really loved the music. Very sad.

I also programmed WESA with Jim there. My best two memories are how well attended his Mon Valley Car Cruise was, and his endless supply of current 45's at his downtown Charleroi Attic II record store, that we used on air. RIP Jim, and thanks for loving radio and the music!

I only met him once, and that was at the WJPA Christmas party at Barry's On the Avenue in 2000, when we worked at JPA together. Good guy.
