Very sad to hear that Jim Kampmann (Kampy) passed away.

?

RIP Kampy.

Is it just me or can we only start threads now if we do NOT log in?

Very sad to hear this. I grew up listening to him on KIXI 880 when he was part of Jim & Jim. He was a great radio personality, and I hope that I can be half of what he was.

Jim had a remarkable career in radio thanks to his unique talents as a writer and voice talent. But perhaps his greatest impact was as a teacher for many tears at Green River Community College in their radio department. He inspired those kids.

I had a chance to be around him at the very start of my radio career. Always a great guy, excellent talent, so sorry to hear of his passing. I know he'll be missed by many.

Yep. Worked with and continue to hear GRCC students on the air in this area as well as other parts of the world. Kampy was a positive influence on the lives of many. He was quite the character.

Here's a clip of Jim Kampmann offering praise for Nancy Regan upon the passing of Ronald Regan, June 10, 2004, Mix 92.5. This is the only serious audio I have of him; everything else is either chit-chat with Mitch & Lisa, and verbal slip-ups while reading the news. I might post those after some time has passed.
