It's a double whammy considering we've lost Donna Summer a few days ago.

But the one thing, and with all due respect with Robin Gibb's passing, that I've always hated were people calling the Bee Gees a "disco group".
Sure, they had one of the biggest selling records of all time with the Saturday Night Fever soundtrack and they got lumped into disco because of it. However prior to that movie, the Bee Gees were a folk/pop group with tracks such as "Massachusetts", "How Could You Mend A Broken Heart", "New York Mining Disaster 1941", "Lonely Days", "To Love Somebody", just to name a few. Even before Saturday Night Fever, they had tracks such as "Nights On Broadway", "Jive Talkin", "Love So Right" a bit more uptempo to what they've done in the past, but not disco.
They also wrote songs for other artists that did well. Kenny Rogers & Dolly Parton's "Island In The Stream" is the best example as well as "Emotion" that they even sang backup for Samantha Sang.
My pet peeve is simply the fact that they did MORE than just "Saturday Night Fever" and the mainstream media tend to forget about that. But I am grateful for their contributions
