RIP Steve Fredericks

Glenn Ordway just mentioned Steve's death on WEEI-Boston where Steve worked in the 70's.

Steve also worked at WMEX/WITS and replaced Jerry Williams at MEX.
 
I worked with Steve at WCAU, long before the advent of full-time sports talk radio - he was really IT when it came to sports talk in town at that point. Before, during and after that, I always found him entertaining and insightful. I say to this day there wasn't more fun to be had on radio (or in person) than when he hosted the Buddy Ryan Show on 'CAU from the long-gone Rib It restaurant on Walnut St.
 
I WORKED WITH STEVE IN PHILLY AND IN NY. STEVE COULD TALK ABOUT ANYTHING AT ANYTIME.
I ENJOYED HIS "38 CONTIGUOUS STATES AND THE DOMINION OF CANADA" SCHTICK...WHEN SPEAKING
OF THE 1210 STICK.
TO HONOR STEVE A FEW YEARS BACK I INCORPORATED HIS "SPORTSLINE" SHOW INTRO INTO MY SONS SPORTS TALK SHOW'

DID WHAT A TALK SHOW SHOULD DO--HE ENTERTAINED! RIP SFO!!!!
 
When I first got into sports talk (because of The Great Sports Debate on Prism) I tuned in originally for Cataldi. But what kept me there was Steve Fredericks and Mike Missanelli. I've missed hearing Fredericks on the air for years now. Sad to hear he's gone.
