RIP Tommy Van Scoy

Ok, we have forgotten one.

How about the late Ernie Boch Sr and since carried on by Ernie Boch Jr.

"We have no overhead so our costs are less....Route 1 Norwood, on the Automile.....COME ON DOWN!!!"

So how about this...Who has been using "Come On Down" the longest?? Ernie Boch Sr/Jr, Bob from Bob's Furniture, or The Price Is Right game show?? The Price Is Right, in it's long running format with Bob Barker, is going on about 34 years now which brings us back to 1972. Johnny Olsen was Price's first announcer until his death around 1985. I dont know specifically whether Johnny Olsen used "Come On Down" from the beginning but I'm willing to bet he did or close to it. It's been used on the show for as long as I can remember thru Johnny Olsen, then by the on-air auditioning announcers before they chose Rod Roddy, then by Rod Roddy who announced from about 1985 until his death just a couple of years ago and now finally by their current announcer, Rich Fields.

Someone else can try and find the answer to that. I dont feel like it. ;o) I just figured I'd bring up another thread within a thread along with some trivia. My guess would be The Price Is Right. Anyone else??

I think Ernie was using that line to sell Ramblers, so I think he wins.
