RIP Warren A. Culbertson

I remember him well from when he joined us at KVIL.
What a genuinely nice guy and so knowledgeable on weather.
Zero ego and always at least one smiling face you would always see walking into the studios.

I remember his brief stint in Chicago television, on the WBKB-TV (now WLS-TV) early morning program "Clock-A-Doodle-Day," sort of a hybrid kids/adults morning show. The show also featured a newscaster named Dale Young who went on to become a big name in Cleveland TV news, and as musical entertainment "Captain Stubby and the Buccaneer's." 90 minutes of live TV in the late 1950's, gotta love it!

Warren was, indeed a wonderful soul. He was one of the most intelligent, yet down-to-earth men, you would ever likley meet. I remember walking into work one morning and seeing Warren with an umbrella. This particular morning was sunny with not a cloud in the sky. His forecast that day, called for continued clear skies. I asked him why he had the umbrella, and he replied "you never know when it might rain."
