RIP WPEP

Noticed on the Boston board that WPEP 1570 Taunton has gone dark to allow WNSH to go to 30 kW ND. But the WPEP programming is turning up on Steve Calllahan's WVBF 1530 Middleborough...

Is it just me or do I hear stories about WPEP going dark every 5 years? I thought the station has been dark for 15 years already! So is it really gone this time or in 2012 will I see a story about how WPEP is going Dark again. LOL. This is Crazy!!!

I just checked the query on the FCC sight.WPEP is still licensed and active.Did or do you know when WPEP signs off?
In related news 990 am WALE's days are numbered too. As of Friday August 9, 2007 approx 1:20 am are numbered to 141 days,22 hours and 40 minutes until curtains.
But who's counting?
Sorry,could'nt resist.

I was there about two months ago...boy was that board missing about 80 buttons...but love listening to Tony Arden..he's outta control...the place did smell like an old man's basement though ;)

I think WPEP really is gone now. I normally would hear WPEP on 1570, but now it's WNSH, quite strong. 1530 WVBF does have a local show on, so maybe they've now dropped all of the TIC programming?

I was sooo sad to hear about the fall of Peppy 15...I was there in June with TA...boy was that board missing some buttons...i needed a mask over my face though because it smelled like my old grandfather's basement...but it was still a fun time!
